“Olive oil is not an agricultural trade, it is a product of Love and Faith”.
Born in Baassir (Lebanon), one of the oldest countries to ever produce olive oil in the world, Ibrahim Al Kaakour is continuing an over 300 year old family legacy in the cultivation of olive oil.
Graduate of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut and a holder of an Executive MBA with a focus on finance from Ésa/ESCP Europe, Ibrahim did not let his daily routine sway him from becoming a professional taster and a master blender/producer of olive oil.
To give homage to both his paternal Lebanese and maternal Greek Heritage, He currently owns two brands that he developed under his company LGOO with a luxury line of exquisite blends of olive oil, honey and many other organic products in state of the art branding.
Ibrahim is also keen on helping the local communities to improve the quality of olive oil and spread not only the know-who that he acquired as an olive oil sommelier, but also the culture, the roots and the love that he shares by hosting tasting sessions and introductory seminars in the olive oil center of the family Villa in the beautiful Mediterranean town of Baassir (a syriac aramian name that translates to “The House of Juice”).
From 2017 he is Member of ONAOO where he started his educational path. On January 2020 he concluded his studies by obtaining the Qualification of Professional Taster of ONAOO.
My journey in extra virgin olive oil began in 2018 at ESAO in Valencia, Oliveoil Times educational Lab in London 2020 and ONAOO since 2022-2025 where I finished as a professional oliveoil taster. I grew up in a restaurant and worked in restaurants in Copenhagen, Aix en Provence and New York.
Back in Denmark in 2006 I met Stig Larsen who had a delikatessen shop where he sold table olives, balsamico and extra virgin olive oil. Since I already knew a great deal about food and wine, we were a perfect match. While working as a waitress I took the wine sommelier education and finished in 2011. Then I began working with Stig, who later became my husband.
Now we have a small Market Hall on an island called Bornholm, where we sell extra virgin olive oil, parmesan, Parma ham, balsamico and also local delikatessen and run a cafe with tapas, sandwiches etc.
I work in our (my husband and I) market hall with delikatessen from Bornholm and the Mediterranean countries. We also do olive oil tastings, we have a cafe and do tapas and different events.
My introduction to the olive oil world was a breakthrough for me, since I have been searching for a field that I love and can be in for the rest of my life. I simply love this amazing community of people in the olive oil world.
Giulio is Professional Taster of ONAOO since 1986 and he is also in the Panel of ONAOO.
Angela has a degree in Psychological Science and Techniques. She is an agronomist, landscape architect and lecturer in agricultural sciences.
Angela oversees the production of her family’s historic olive grove in the Cilento area of Castellabate (SA), using sustainable agronomic practices in the belief that “agriculture can and should be integrated with the natural resources of a territory, with the aim not only of protecting the environment, but also of pursuing the best quality characteristics of the product, contributing to the creation of “well-being in place”, a fundamental element of the health of each of us.” In 2016, he became a member of ONAOO and began his educational journey.
In January 2020, he will complete his studies by obtaining the ONAOO Professional Taster qualification. On May 15, 2024, the Genoa Chamber of Commerce added Angela to the National List of Technicians and Experts of Virgin and Extra Virgin Olive Oils.
