PROFILO:

Mario was born in Verona and is married with two children, Valentina and Matteo. After the diploma of commercial technician, always in contact with the oil mill, he played many roles in the various sectors and lastly as “PRODUCTION DIRECTOR”. Quality-conscious, supporter of the comparison to grow and spread the culture of olive oil, in 1985 he attended the first ONAOO Technical course, which was followed by other specialization courses in the following years. Since 2004 he has been registered on the National List of expert technicians of virgin and extra virgin olive oils. In 2005 he enrolled as a Professional Taster in the ONAOO Register and regularly attends refresher courses and tasting sessions organized by the School. From 2006 to 2018 he was a member of the ONAOO Board of Directors; from 2019 he became part of the Council as Arbitrator.

Al Kaakour Ibrahim

“Olive oil is not an agricultural trade, it is a product of Love and Faith”.
Born in Baassir (Lebanon), one of the oldest countries to ever produce olive oil in the world, Ibrahim Al Kaakour is continuing an over 300 year old family legacy in the cultivation of olive oil.
Graduate of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut and a holder of an Executive MBA with a focus on finance from Ésa/ESCP Europe, Ibrahim did not let his daily routine sway him from becoming a professional taster and a master blender/producer of olive oil.
To give homage to both his paternal Lebanese and maternal Greek Heritage, He currently owns two brands that he developed under his company LGOO with a luxury line of exquisite blends of olive oil, honey and many other organic products in state of the art branding.
Ibrahim is also keen on helping the local communities to improve the quality of olive oil and spread not only the know-who that he acquired as an olive oil sommelier, but also the culture, the roots and the love that he shares by hosting tasting sessions and introductory seminars in the olive oil center of the family Villa in the beautiful Mediterranean town of Baassir (a syriac aramian name that translates to “The House of Juice”).
From 2017 he is Member of ONAOO where he started his educational path. On January 2020 he concluded his studies by obtaining the Qualification of Professional Taster of ONAOO.

Murat Faik Ünver

Murat Faik Ünver, of Swiss and Turkish descent, was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland. From a young age, he developed a deep interest in culinary arts and cooking. To pursue this passion, he studied Applied Sciences in Hospitality Management and Business Administration at Glion Hospitality School in Montreux.

After completing his university studies, he worked in the hospitality industry for a time, but he soon realized his true calling was to produce something from the land and engage in agriculture. To fulfill his aspirations, Murat returned to his roots in Turkey, where he planted approximately 3,000 olive trees and began cultivating his family’s land. Additionally, he acquired an abandoned olive oil factory, marking the beginning of his brand, Olivya Gökçeovacık. Since 2019, Murat and his team have been producing their own high-quality olive oil, supplying it locally to those who seek premium olive oil.

Over the years, they have garnered multiple awards, creating many moments of pride. Driven by his passion for creating and producing, Murat’s pursuit of becoming a certified olive oil sommelier will further enhance his expertise and enable him to continue excelling in his field.

Antonella Meyer-Masciulli

Antonella has been an ONAOO professional taster since 2017.

After obtaining her sensory certification, she has been a member and judge of the Swiss Olive Oil Panel (SOP) at the ZHAW School of Life Sciences and Facility Management since 2002.

Since 2002 she has been a judge for the “ZHAW International Olive Oil Award” and other international competitions. She is the owner and managing director of “Mitera GmbH”: a producer of Cretan millennial quality olive oil, approved by DNA in both Crete and Umbria. She is also a nutritionist.

George Moforis

George was born in Athens in 1978. He graduated with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2002 and worked as a construction project manager until 2012. For the past ten years, he has developed an in-depth knowledge and appreciation for the cultivation and production of high quality olive oil, after undertaking a number of accredited training programs in Italy and Greece.
